About this Course

Come join us for this new 6-week online program that makes space for Autistic adults to share their relationship struggles and successes and support each other as everyone navigates dating goals and relationship milestones in a small group. Potential topics could include: - Choosing a good first date outfit - Setting up a dating profile - Fears and worries of dating - Planning and ending dates - Autism and dates - Communication and sex - Values and dating - Rejection and self-care - Boundaries The program will be led by CAN’s HRSA Educator, Kendall McSweeney, a registered Social Worker alongside 1 to 2 Autistic Peer Facilitators. For more information on the program follow this link: canucksautism.ca/program/autistic-dating-group/ PROGRAM REQUIRNMENTS: • A formal autism diagnosis is NOT required; participants can self-identify as Autistic. • Participants must have a CAN account. • Participants must be of the correct age when the program starts. REGISTRATION INFORMATION • First Come, First Served: Register early as spaces are limited. Once full, you will be waitlisted. • Prerequisite: Ideal for those who have completed the HRSA program, but not required. • Eligibility: Open to individuals 18+ at any stage of a romantic relationship, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. • Support Level: Best for those who do not require one-to-one support. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This program is not intended to practice dating or teach skills that mirror common dating expectations, but rather is a space for peers to explore what dating can mean to each individual and for everyone to share lived experiences navigating dating as an Autistic adults.
